Arthur's Seat and Beyond

I had the gift of a day out in Edinburgh on Friday and went up Arthur's Seat for the first time - only taken me 62 years!

I had hoped to plant some crystals there but it was very busy at the top and unusually it just didn’t feel the right moment. It was lovely however to appreciate the view and connect to crystals already placed  there by Jennifer Mole who has done so much planting for the project over many years. I was also reminded of other crystals plantings I'd done some years back to both North Berwick Law and the waters around Bass Rock, both of which could be seen in the distance.

I’m looking forward to returning to Edinburgh and going back up Arthur's Seat to action the next planting there at a quieter time!

Global Peace Meditations

Thank you to everyone who connected into our Tuesday and Wednesday meditations this week and for continuing to help make the world a lighter, brighter place for all at this time of continued planetary change and transformation.

The crystal will be ignited for twenty minutes from 7.50pm to 8.10pm BST on each Thursday evening and can be tuned into for all or part of those times. If you are in a different time zone, or unable to join in at the allotted time, please feel able to connect into the energy of the meditation at a time to suit you.

Crystals for Planting

Sorting through an old bag I rarely use now, I came across a beautiful set of crystals for planting I’d forgotten about. Rose auras for enhancing heart connection, merlinite for empowering ancient standing stones as anchors of Light in current times, and mariposite for placement to lochs and lochans to strengthen the lifeforms within.

Due to on going family challenges this year, it's been difficult to get out on crystal planting trips in the way I would normally do in the summer but I’m hoping to be able to create greater space for this in the coming weeks and months.

If you are interested in planting your own crystals to bring about different aspects of Earth healing there are plenty of ideas in the pages section of this blog and I will shortly be working on getting free downloadable action sheets for some of the key ways of working available on the website once again.

Summer Solstice 2025

There will be a special meditation today 21/06/25, through noon BST,  marking the summer solstice here in the Northern Hemisphere. This meditation celebrates the warmth, fecundity and nurturance of this time of year and offers an opportunity to pause and reflect on the first half of the year, celebrate intentions set in motion and look towards the continuing journey forward. 

This year we are using the beautiful configuration shown below, with the focus: 

'To send the energies of joy, hope, strength, vitality and heart connection to the Earth and her inhabitants'

The crystal grid is comprised of a Pure Grace Heart, four sunshine auras, four rose auras and four angel auras.

Personal and Planetary Peace

With so much unrest and challenge taking place at both a personal and planetary level at this time, I felt prompted to share a reminder about the beauty of rose quartz in helping us all to retain a greater sense of peace in our lives.

This beautiful pink crystal is inexpensive and comes in a variety of forms and can be used, worn or carried by anyone, and planted anywhere, to veil a greater sense of peace and wellbeing.

Cleansing Crystals

As we approach the next full moon, this Wednesday, 11/06/25, it is a good time to think about putting your crystals to cleanse. The importance of regular cleansing of crystals cannot be emphasised enough and is perhaps the most important thing I learnt in my Crystal Therapist training over 25 years ago.

Most crystals as well as radiating out positive energy, act like sponges absorbing negative energies from their surroundings or the person, plant or animal to which they are placed. If they are not then cleansed these energies can begin to leak back out just as a saturated sponge would drip, serving to potentially escalate the very illness, challenge or difficulty they are being used for in the first place!

There are many ways to cleanse crystals, yet simply placing into a glass container of cold water overnight on a windowsill is simple and highly effective.

Similarly for softer stones such as selenite, or mounted or strung jewellery, placing to an amethyst bed or a salt platter in natural light for a few hours works well. The latter cleansing methods prevent more delicate crystals from becoming damaged, mountings tarnishing or strings weakening.

Chevron Amethyst

I have a bit of a passion for chevron amethyst and bought these rough cut pieces 22 years ago on my first trip to a crystal wholesalers for Crystal Earthworks. These particular pieces are from India and were used for many years at our house in Orkney to energy grid our indoor recycling bins. They have recently resurfaced from a packing box for use here in our home in Perthshire and are currently soaking in a bowl of water ready to be reprogrammed.
